Rene Barrientez, Sr. (Tulia)

Tulia, Texas—Rene Barrientez, Sr., 59, died on Monday, May 18, 2020. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM Thursday, May 21, 2020 in the Kornerstone Funeral Directors Chapel with his nephew, Edward Barrientez officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery. Arrangements are under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Tulia.

A prayer service will be held on Wednesday, May 20, 2020 at 6:00 pm in the Kornerstone Funeral Directors Chapel.

Rene was born on September 21, 1960 in Karnes City, Texas to Jose Maria and Soila Barrientez, Sr. He grew up and attended schools in Karnes City. He married San Juana “Janie” Sanders on April 13, 1976. He lived in Karnes City and worked in construction and was a truck driver. They moved to Tulia in 1994. He has worked for Soil Menders for the past 12 years.

He is preceded in death by his parents and three brothers: Frank Barrientez, Sr., Jose Maria Barrientez, Jr. and Ramiro Barrientez.

He is survived by his wife: Janie Barrientez of Tulia, two daughters: Miracle Barrientez of Tulia and Stelaine Delgado of Amarillo, three sons: Rene Barrientez, Jr. and wife Stephanie of Tulia, Robert Barrientez and wife Lisa of San Antonio and Adam Barrientez and wife Veronica of Tulia, one grandson they were raising as their own son: Ezekiel Barrientez of Tulia, one sister: Rosanna Barrientez Ramirez of Karnes City and 13 grandchildren.
