Tulia, Texas—Ricardo A. Brionez, 83, died on Thursday, August 12, 2021. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Monday, August 16, 2021, in the Catholic Church of the Holy Spirit. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery. Arrangements are under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Tulia.
A rosary will be held on Sunday, August 15, 2021, from 6:00 to 7:30 pm at the funeral home.
Ricardo was born on April 3, 1938, in Carrizo Springs, Texas to Sylvester and Condeleria Avero Briones. He was a hard worker all his life leaving school in the third grade to work in the fields. He married Maria Margarita Montoya in 1959. He worked for the First National Bank as a custodian for over 15 years. He worked at the Royal Park Factory for several years. He worked on the Norman Singer farm for about 5 years. He worked for the TISD for over 19 years, and he also loved to mow yards. He loved to stay busy and work hard.
He is preceded in death by his parents; Sylvester and Condeleria Briones and his brothers and sisters; Pascual Briones, Juan Briones, Enrique Briones, Estefania Betancourt, Dominga Gonzales, Luisa Rocha and Concepcion Rodriguez and a daughter: Sandy Briones.
He is survived by his wife: Maria Margarita Brionez, his six children: Ricardo Briones, Jr. Jose Brionez, Rene Briones, Norma Vargas, Javier Briones, and Saul Briones, all from Tulia, 23 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren with one on the way.
