Robert Gomez (Tulia)

Tulia, Texas—Robert Gomez, 65, died on Tuesday, September 22, 2020. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am Friday, September 25, 2020 in the Catholic Church of the Holy Spirit with Father David Contreras officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery. Arrangements are under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Tulia.

A rosary will be held at 7:00 pm Thursday, September 24, 2020 at the funeral home.

Robert was born on February 22, 1955 in Tulia to Jesse and Eloisa Gomez. He lived in Tulia all his life. He married Rosa Basaldua June 12, 1976. He was employed by the United States Postal Service as a letter carrier and retired after 33 years of dedicated service. He was a member of the catholic Church of the Holy Spirit.

He is preceded in death by his parents, two brothers: Jesse Gomez, Jr. and Julian Gomez and three sisters: Adelina Saldana, Elvira Medina and Linda Chavarria.

He is survived by his wife: Rosa Gomez of Tulia, three children: Roman Gomez and wife Monica of Tulia, Leanda Gomez of Tulia and Regina Marquez and husband Efrain of Tulia, six grandchildren: Tiffany Subealdea, Matthew Gomez, Abrie Gomez, Averyana Marquez, Aiden Marquez and Alexander Marquez, one great grandson: Noah Garza, five sisters: Delores Turner of Lubbock, Pauline Galvan of Lubbock, Bessie Vargas of Tulia, Loffie Galvan of Lubbock, Alice Saldana of Tulia and one brother: David Gomez of Tulia.
