Rodolfo "Fito" Gonzales III

Rodolfo "Fito" Gonzales III, 43 of Hart, passed away on September 3, 2022.  A Funeral Mass is scheduled for 3:00pm on Wednesday, September 7, 2022 at St John's Catholic Church with Father Raj celebrating.  A Rosary will be recited at 6:00pm on Tuesday at the church in Hart.  Arrangements are entrusted to Horizon Funeral Home of Dalhart.

Fito was born on September 29, 1978 in Plainview to Rudy and Esther Gonzales.  He graduated from Hart High School and attended college.  Fito enjoyed playing sports and was an avid San Francisco 49ers fan.  He also liked gaming with his nephews and got a kick out of teasing everyone, especially his cousins.  Fito had a heart of gold and would do anything for anyone if he was able.  Fito was many things to many people but above all he was one proud “Grandpa” to Messiah and Malakye Minjarez.  He was a loving son, protective older brother, amazing father, grateful grandfather, funny uncle, fun cousin and so much more.  Fito was known by many and will be missed by all.

He is preceded in death by his grandparents: Agustin and Ana Perez, Sr., uncle: Richard Gonzales, aunt and uncle: Mike and Rosa Sarabia; and uncle: Leo Montoya.

Those left to cherish his memory are: parents: Rudy and Esther Gonzales of Hart, one son: Matthew Gonzales and girlfriend Yeiny Minjarez of Hart, one brother: Matthew Gonzales and wife Elizabeth of Dallas, one sister: Sonia Gonzales of Plainview, two grandchildren: Messiah and Malakye Minjarez, and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews and friends
