Ruth Rondelle Newton, 84, of Plainview, TX went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus on Wednesday, August 28, 2024, in Plainview. A graveside service at Plainview Memorial Park will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Tuesday, September 3, 2024, with Brad Miles officiating.
A family visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. on Monday, September 2, 2024, at the funeral home.
Rondelle was born September 11, 1939, in Quanah, Texas to John R Carter & Ruth Calvin Carter. She grew up in Plainview, Texas and graduated from Plainview High School and Wayland Baptist University. She married Dale Newton on November 23, 1957. She was a lifelong educator in Arizona on the Navajo Reservation and ended her education and school administration career in Plainview. She was devoted in love to Dale and to raising her children including many foster children. She truly had a servant’s heart and loved helping families and children in need. Her grandkids and great grandkids brought her much joy and noise as she would say in love! She was also passionate about her miniature horses, raising and showing them for many years. Her wit and spunk but most of all her love will be missed dearly.
She is preceded in death by her parents, John & Ruth Carter, her husband Dale Newton, her son Gary Wayne Newton, grandson Colby Dale Newton, brother John Calvin Carter and son-in-law Paul Margel.
She is survived by three daughters, Debra Chandler of Plainview, TX, Dana Wong & husband Mike of Plainview, and D’Anna Margel of Washington D.C; three sons, Douglas Newton & wife Mary of Hale Center, Darren Newton & wife Sharon of Lubbock, TX, and Derek Newton of Plainview, TX; seven grandchildren, Amanda Schupbach & husband Mitch, Christopher Chandler & wife Rachel, Megan Brown & husband Marc, Danielle Duffield & husband T.J., Michelle Harre & husband Michael, Kayla Belcher & husband Marshall, and Brady Newton & wife Trystan; and nine great grandchildren, Kerstin & Kolton Schupbach, Harley & Oliver Brown, Jayti, Jentri & Gavin Duffield and Elly & Sady Harre.
