Rosa Lopez (Tulia)

Tulia, Texas--Rosa Elia Lopez, 80, died on Tuesday, November 24, 2020. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, December 2, 2020 in the Kornerstone Funeral Directors Chapel in Tulia.

Burial will follow in Kress Cemetery in Kress. Arrangements are under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Tulia.

Rosa was born on July 22, 1940 in Linares, Nuevo Leon, Mexico to Jose and Balia Diaz. She moved to Harlingen, Texas at the age of 6 and lived their until she moved to Tulia in 2005.

She was a longtime nurse in Harlingen and San Benito. She married Luis Lopez in 1950 and they were married for 54 years until his death in 2004. She was a very kind and honest woman.

She had a beautiful soul and was very humble in nature. She loved her family.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her daughter: Margie Lopez, one sister: Esther Diaz, one brother: Jose Diaz and two grandchildren.

She is survived by one daughter: Rosie Belmares of Tulia, two sons: Luis Lopez, Jr. of Abernathy and Jose P. Lopez of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, three sisters: Hilda Reyes, Maria Aurora Cantu, Diana D. Miller and Noemi Bald, 16 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren.
