Roy Gene "Pops" Johnson (Tulia)

Tulia, Texas—Roy Gene “Pops” Johnson, 63, died on Saturday, August 1, 2020. A funeral service will be held at 10:00 am Saturday, August 8, 2020 in the Kornerstone Funeral Directors Chapel. A graveside service will be held at 4:00 PM Saturday in Weinert Cemetery at Weinert, Texas. Arrangements are under the direction of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Tulia. Roy was born on January 29, 1957 in Haskell to A. B. “Pete” and Vergie Johnson. He was a lineman, a truck driver. He had been working for Wesley Farms in Tulia. He is preceded in death by his parents and two brothers: A. B. Johnson, Jr., and Dennis Lee “Dinky” Johnson. He is survived by his children: Felicia Johnson, Roy Johnson, Jr., Daniel Johnson, Alyssa Bryant, Tashina Johnson, Trinity Johnson and Christopher, one brother: Charles Allen “Charlie” Johnson, one sister: Vergie Felton, 15 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.
