Roy Lee Tullis (Plainview)

Roy Lee Tullis, 77, of Plainview passed away peacefully in the comfort of his home on Wednesday, September 26, 2018, in Plainview, Texas. A visitation will be held Friday, September 28, from 6:00 to 7:00pm at Kornerstone Funeral Directors.  A service celebrating his life will be held at 10:00 am Saturday, September 29, at Kornerstone Funeral Directors Chapel with Rev. Bob DuPont officiating.  Burial will follow at Plainview Memorial Park under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview. Roy was born in Sentinel, Oklahoma, on November 25, 1940, to Glen W. and Dorothy P. Tullis. He grew up on a farm in Port, Oklahoma, until the family moved to a farm in Hale Center, Texas, in 1952, and it was there that he graduated from high school.  He attended college for two years before serving in the United States Air Force from 1960 to 1964, being stationed in England and California as a teletype technician.  Afterwards he returned home to become a store manager for Gebos in Plainview, Texas.  He joined his parents’ real estate and bail bonding business in 1979 and went on to operate that business until his death.  He found his perfect mate in Judith Adamek. They married on July 18, 1992, in Slaton, Texas.  Roy took great joy in helping and nurturing others with their problems and ailments.  He had a positive impact on the lives of many people. Survivors include his wife, Judith Tullis; his children: Rick Tullis and wife Elizabeth, JoAnn Tullis, and Becky Sistrunk; step-children: Bradley Wright and wife Sally, Bryan Wright, Brandon Wright and wife Becky, Jaime Marr and husband Shawn; 13 grandchildren and step-grandchildren: Ross Tullis, Kyle Tullis, Jack Tullis, Cade Tullis, Nathan Stevens, Kristian Daniels, Marleigh Sistrunk, Levi Wright, George Wright, Emmett Wright, Aysha Wright, Lauren Marr, Sarah Marr; great-grandson Balin; sisters: Glenna Crooks (Don), Barbara Pickett, and Sue Thompson. Roy was preceded in death by his parents, sister Mary Ann, and brother-in-law, James Pickett. The family suggests a memorial to a charity or your choice or your local church.
