Roy Vaughn (Tulia)

Tulia, Texas—Roy Vaughn, 88, died Tuesday, August 21, 2018. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, August 25, 2018 in the Rose Hill Cemetery in Tulia. Arrangements are under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Tulia. A visitation will be held on Friday, August 24, 2018 from 6:00 to 7:00 pm at the funeral home. Roy was born on March 13, 1930 in Tulia to Marshall and Lola Vaughn. He grew up in Tulia and attended Tulia Schools. He married Jo Zeigler on December 13, 1950 in Clovis. She passed away on August 17, 2013. Roy was a farmer. He was also a member of the Sheriff’s Auxiliary as a volunteer. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Tulia. After Roy retired from farming he drove a school bus for Tulia ISD for several years, enjoying the kids on his route. He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife, a brother: Elwyn Vaughn and a sister: Edith Berry. He is survived by two daughters: Vicki LaGrone and husband Mike of Amarillo, Dee Ann Mahaney and husband Randy of Plainview, one son: Wayne Vaughn and wife Anne of Bakersfield, CA, one brother: Boyd Vaughn and wife Sherry of Amarillo and one sister: Joann Thatcher and husband Thomas of Amarillo, five grandchildren: Chris Mahaney and wife Carla of Plainview, Cory Mahaney and wife Myky of Keller, Whitney Walden and husband Thomas of Dallas, Mark LaGrone of Dallas and Lisa Vaughn of Bakersfield, CA and 6 great grandchildren.
