Sandra Sue Jarrett (Plainview)

Sandra McGowen Thompson Jarrett (Sandy) was born August 20, 1946 to JA and Jean McGowan in Paducah Texas. She grew up all over the place because her dad was in the oilfield. They finally settled in Perryton, Texas, where she graduated from high school. She went on to on to Wayland Baptist University (then college) where she met Jack Thompson. They married and had two amazing children.

After her first marriage went by the wayside, she worked at Hale County State Bank for 15 years. She prided herself on being always in perfect compliance with Bank examiners. One evening, she and her daughter were at Furr's, her favorite place to eat, and she met Paul Jarrett. They had known each other back in the day, and who'd have known… he was her soul mate. They lived in California, after they married, and she loved it. She loved all things California, especially La Jolla Shores.

After retiring to Plainview, she and Paul became very active in their church, Plainview First Assembly. She may not have wanted to go on mission trips, help at fireworks stands, or go to youth camp, but she unselfishly encouraged Paul to. She was always supportive.

She bragged on Paul every chance she got! She loved him and was so proud of him! And she loved her family! She loved her son, Jason Thompson, and his wife, Cassie. She was so proud of the work they did teaching and coaching the swim team. She loved her daughter, Kelli Watson, and her son-in-law, Randy, too. She cherished every visit!

Later in her life, she was admitted to Westridge Manor, where she was very well taken care of! She slipped away from us, to her heavenly reward on January 17, 2023.

We will miss her. Besides being survived by her husband, Paul Jarrett, of Plainview TX,, and children, Kelli Thompson Watson and her husband Randy, of Ardmore OK, and Jason Thompson and his wife Cassie, of Forney TX, Sandy is survived by her grandchildren, Brittany Craft, Cody Watson (Megan Harris), Joshua Thompson, and Seth Thompson (Destiny).

Because she hated going to funerals, she didn't want people to have to come to hers, so we are honoring her wishes for no service. To honor her memory, donations can be made to Mukti, a non-profit that teaches low caste children, who would not otherwise have an education.
