Santos "Sam" Garza (Plainview)

Sam Garza, Sr., 76, passed away on December 24, 2023. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Friday, December 29, 2023 in the chapel of Kornerstone Funeral Directors with Mel Gomez officiating. Interment will follow in Hale Center Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Thursday, December 28, 2023 in the chapel of Kornerstone Funeral Directors. Sam was a cherished son, father, and friend. He was born in Roundup, Texas to Manuel & Juanita Garza. Throughout his life, Sam understood the value of hard work, resilience, and determination. Sam dedicated over 50 years of his life to the agricultural industry as a skilled farm hand. He tilled the land in Halfway, Quarterway, Lockney and Providence. Sam enjoyed watching wrestling, watching old Westerns and was a huge Denver Broncos fan. Sam is preceded in death by his parents, Manuel & Juanita Garza; wife, Guadalupe Baca, brother, Manuel Garza, Jr. and sisters, Virginia Garza Delgado and Seferina Garza Saenz, and grandson Joshua Ryan Garza. Sam is survived by his son, Sam Garza, Jr, and wife Sandra of Plainview, Texas, Son Jerry Garza and wife Gail of Santa Fe, New Mexico, step son Raymundo Baca of Sacramento, California, step daughter, Gloria Olvera and husband Martin of Hale Center, Texas, step daughter, Dora Baca of Hale Center, Texas, brother, Isaac Garza, sister, Paulin Guerra, twenty five grandchildren, many great grandchildren and five great-great grandchildren.
