Savino Leija (Plainview)

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, October 22, 2024, at 2:00 P.M. at Trinity Life Church in Plainview with James Collins Officiating. A visitation will be held on Monday, October 21, 2024, from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at Kornerstone Funeral Directors in Plainview. Arrangements are under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview.

Savino Leija, a dedicated, hardworking husband, father, and friend of Kress, TX, passed away at the age of 84 on October 16, 2024. Savino was born to Jose Leija and Felis Ramos Leija in Crowell, TX on December 30, 1939. Savino married San Juanita Rodriguez on June 12, 2003. He spent most of his time working as a cement contractor, welder, and construction worker. He loved helping others and he made sure to share his hardworking skills by giving a helping hand wherever it was needed. He also loved spending time with family and friends and was well-known in the community of both Kress and Plainview, TX. He will be greatly missed by everyone.

Savino is survived by his caring and loving wife San Juanita Leija; brother Marce Leija and sister Joann Leija, daughters, Catherine (Mendy) Majors of Amarillo, TX, Lisa (Sammy) Ramirez of Floydada, TX, Sylvia Contrerez of Amarillo, TX, Ruth Leija (Baldo) Gutierrez of Memphis, TX, Ester Leija Soliz of Plainview, TX, Rosalie Leija (James) Collins of Lubbock, TX, Bernice Leija (Jesse) Sifuentes of Plainview, TX, and Tammy Leija (Lupe) DeLuna of Plainview, TX. His sons; David M. Gonzales (Cynthia) of Plainview, TX, Robert Gonzales of Lubbock, TX, and Marcos Gonzales (Chantelle) of Amarillo, TX. 30 grandchildren, 38 great grandchildren and 3 great, great grandchildren.

Savino is preceded in death by his Father Jose Leija, his Mother Felis Ramos Leija, his sister Rosie Vigil, brothers Joe Leija and Ezequiel (Zeke) Leija.
