Sean Jacob Sturgess (Tulia)

Tulia, Texas-Sean Jacob Sturgess, 31, passed away on Sunday, October 16, 2022 in Lubbock. Funeral service will he held on Saturday, November 5, 2022 at 1:00 P.M. in the Kornerstone Funeral Directors Chapel with Rev. Brian West officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery. Funeral services are under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Tulia. Sean was born on March 24, 1991 in Lubbock to Timothy and Toni (Kirk) Sturgess. He graduated from Monterey High School and after graduating he enlisted in the United States Marines and served two tours in Afghanistan. Sean was honorably discharged in 2014 and came back to Lubbock where he worked as a welder for Daco Fire Equipment building fire trucks for several years. He loved his two dogs Alue and Abel and hanging out with his friends. Sean started his own little business SS Welding in Fabrication with his brother Stuart. Sean loved being with his children especially on the weekends. He loved the outdoors, hunting, fishing and working out. He is preceded in death by his father, Timothy Sturgess, his grandfathers, James Sturgess and Sam Kirk; his uncles, Charles Sturgess, Robert Sturgess and Ronny Collier; his aunt, Kay Sturgess. He is survived by his mother, Toni Sturgess; his son, Lathen Sturgess; his daughter, Laramie Sturgess; his sister, Samantha Yovicson; his brother, Stuart Sturgess and wife Cydney; his aunts, Lori, and Valarie; his uncle Bill; his grandmother, Marylyn Kirk and several cousins, nieces, and nephews.
