Sharon Settle (Plainview)

Sharon Settle, 76, of Edmonson passed away on Thursday, February 10, 2022.  A Memorial visitation will be held at Garland Street Church of Christ in the Fellowship Hall from 12:00 P.M until 2:00 P.M. on Saturday, February 19, 2022.  Its come and go.  Please join the family in Food and Fellowship and Celebrate Sharon’s life.

Sharon was born April 23, 1945 in Carrizozo, New Mexico to Willie Alton and Mary Petross Talley.  Sharon grew up in Claunch, New Mexico and graduated from Corona High School.  She married Jerry Settle on August 6, 1965 in Lubbock, Texas.  She worked for the Jodi Department Store, was a Teacher and a stay at home mom.  Sharon taught Sunday school for 48 years, was a member of the Christliche Damen Society, member of the Chamber Singers and a soloist.  She was also a member of the Garland Street Church of Christ and the Ladies Bible Class.  Sharon always loved taking care of people and took food to the bereaved or people returning from the hospital.  She was always the Room Mom for the kids during their school years.

Sharon was preceded in death by her parents, Alton and Mary Talley.

Sharon is survived by her husband Jerry Settle of Edmonson; sons, Jeff Settle and wife Jennifer of Edmonson, Jody Settle and wife Connie of Tulsa, OK; daughter, Angie Bennett and husband Cody of Edmonson; sisters, Norma Banning and husband Sonny of Wichita, KS, Charlene Brown and husband Gordon Houston, Reta Settle Mimms and husband Clay of Macalister, NM; brothers, Leon Talley and wife Nelda of Lubbock, Tim Talley and wife Rebecca of Lubbock; grandchildren, Ashley and Danica Settle of Tulsa, OK, Andrew Bennett of Denton, Riley, Tanner, and Steel Bennett of Edmonson; Laurel Chaney of Wheeler, TX; and eight nephews and 6 nieces.

The family suggests memorials to the Garland Street Church of Christ, Lubbock Children’s Home, or the New Mexico Children’s Home.
