Maria Silvina Ibarra, 78, of Plainview, Texas passed away on March 8, 2024. A rosary to honor and remember Silvina will be held at Kornerstone Funeral Directors Chapel in Plainview on March 13, 2024, at 6:00 P.M. Funeral Mass will be held at Our Lady of Guadalupe in Plainview on Thursday, March 14, 2024, at 10:00 A.M. Arrangements are under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview. Silvina was born on July 25,1945, in Emiliano Zapata, Durango, Mexico. She married Raul Ibarra, the love of her life on January 6,1964 in Emiliano Zapata, Durango, Mexico. A devoted homemaker, she dedicated her life to raising her children and extended family. Silvina found great solace in her faith. She was an active and devoted member of Our Lady of Guadalupe in Plainview, where she found joy in participating in various church activities and events. Her strong faith guiding her through life. Silvina found joy in staying active through exercise and water aerobics, always valuing her health and wellbeing. She loved to travel and always said "Que no me digan que no me cuenten". She embraced family celebrations, whether it be making tamales, attending quinceañeras, weddings, baptisms, or birthday parties. Silvina's love for mariachi music brought her great delight, often seen dancing and celebrating with friends and loved ones. Silvina's spirit of unity between friends and faith will continue to live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to have known her. She will be missed by many friends and family. Silvina is preceded in death by her beloved husband; Raul Ibarra, a son; Mariano Ibarra, parents; Concepcion and Dolores Garcia, siblings; Elena Garcia, Rodolfo Garcia, David Garcia, Eliseo Garcia. Silvina is survived by nine children; Petra and Eliborio Vargas of Lubbock, Elsa Graciano of Dallas, Javier Ibarra of Plainview, Gavino,Ibarra of Plainview, Rosa Ibarra of Plainview, Sylvia and Adam Mendoza of Plainview, Lilia and Mario Delgado of Plainview, Raul Ibarra, Jr. and Brenda of Grand Prairie and Angie Garcia of New Mexico, siblings; Enriqueta, Elvira, Refugia, Abigail, and Lilia Garcia, twenty-five grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren.
