Simona Carrasco (Tulia)

Tulia, Texas—Simona Carrasco, 71, of Tulia, passed away on Thursday, August 8, 2019 in Amarillo. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Monday, August 12, 2019 in the Kornerstone Chapel with Pastor Joe Gonzales officiating. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Cemetery under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Tulia.

A prayer service will be held on Sunday, August 11, 2019 from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

Simona was born on May 2, 1948 in Snyder, Texas to Juan Domingo Luna and Simona Maria League. She married Martin Carrasco on September of 1983. Simona was employed at Swisher Memorial Hospital for eight years as a housekeeper. She was a housewife, great cook and her favorite meal to make was homemade tortillas and carne guisada. She attended Church of the Comforter until she became ill. Simona had a sense of humor in making everyone laugh and most important of all, a woman of faith. She loved Christian music and she especially loved her grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one son; Danny Camacho, four brothers; Johnny Luna, Josue Luna, Ruben Luna and Isaac Luna, two sisters; Bertha Morales and Angela Luna, one grandson; Cody Justin Irwin.

She is survived by three daughters; Sandra Carrasco, Michelle Bullock and husband Jimmy Don and Sylvia Carrasco, one son; Sammy Camacho, one brother; Samuel Luna, two sisters; Teresa Luna and Marylee Lopez, seven grandchildren; Sammy Camacho Jr., Lydia Camacho, Christopher Camacho, Austin Tyler Irwin, Jeremy Don Bullock, Ashely Michelle Bullock and Emily Grace Del Toro and six great grandchildren.
