Ted Billington, 82, passed away on Monday, December 10, 2018, in his Bryan home. A visitation will be held Sunday, December 16th, from 1:30 to 3pm, at Kornerstone Funeral Directors in Plainview, Texas, with his funeral service immediately following. Interment will be at 10am, Monday, December 17th, at the Plainview Memorial Park Cemetery. Services are in the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview. Ted Billington was born to Arlie and Dorothy Lee Hamby Billington, in Plainview, Texas, where he grew up attending Ninth and Columbia Church of Christ. He graduated from Plainview High school in 1954 where he participated as a Golden Gloves boxer and then attended Texas Tech University where he was captain of the track team. He served honorably in the United States Army stationed in Germany from 1956 to 1957. Upon his return, he met his wife of 58 years, Billie, at the movie theatre in Plainview where she worked. They were married on January 22, 1960 and grew a family of three children, five grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren. Ted was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He worked tirelessly, not only to support his family, but to serve the community by helping fund the establishment of many prominent local businesses in the Bryan-College Station area as Vice President at several local banking institutions. He loved to travel, especially to Las Vegas with Billie and his brother Keith, and to attend sporting and school events of his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. His parents, Arlie and Dorothy Billington; his sisters Patsy Ferguson and Peggy Young; and his brother-in-law Denson Adkins precede Ted in death. He is survived by his wife, Billie Jo Billington; his children Teddi Ferrante, Brian Billington and wife Cynthia, and Jill Borowiec and husband Jeff; his grandchildren Allison, Lindsay, Brandon, Jackson, and Madeline; his great-grandchildren Daphney, Mia, Sabastian, and Westley; his brother Keith Billington and wife Cindy, of Plainview; his sister, Donna Adkins, of Gadsden, Alabama; and other relatives.
