Thelma Louise Surley (Plainview)

Thelma Louise Hart Surley, 89, passed away on October 30, 2020. Funeral services will be held 2:00 P.M. Monday, November 2, 2020 in the Kornerstone Funeral Directors Chapel. Burial will follow at Plainview Memorial Park under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview. Thelma was born on June 20, 1931 in Estelline, Texas to William Thomas Hart and Hazel (Blanks) Hart. She grew up in Estelline. Her family moved to Cranfills Gap, Texas as a teenager. She married Curtis Surley on June 4, 1949 there in Cranfills Gap. The moved to the Plainview area right after marriage only to leave and return a few years later. She was a LVN and worked at a couple of different nursing homes and doctors through the years. She was a member of the 9th & Columbia Church of Christ in Plainview. Thelma was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Judy Clark; 2 sisters, Cherry Anderson, and Linda Francis Reynolds. Survivors include her husband Curtis Surley of Plainview; one daughter, Rhonda Hackett and husband Mark of Lamesa; one son, Darryl Surley of Plainview; one brother, William Thomas Hart, Jr. of Checotah, Oklahoma; one sister, Tommy Hodges of Coldspring, Texas; 6 Grandchildren and 8 Great Grandchildren.
