Theresa Lynnette Day (Plainview)

Theresa Settle Day, 67, of Plainview passed away on Tuesday, December 1, 2020.  Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, December 9, 2020 at Seth Ward Baptist Church with Rev. Larry Mizell officiating.  Burial will follow in Plainview Cemetery under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview.

Theresa was born on April 9, 1953 in Plainview to Virgil and Byra Settle.  She grew up in Plainview and graduated from Plainview High School.  Theresa married Tommy Day on July 31, 1970.  She worked at Rainbow Video for a few years but mostly she was a homemaker.  She decided to attend Wayland Baptist University at the same time as her son Sean, and received her degree in Education.  While in college, she worked in the Lab Department as a geological lab assistant.  Member of Seth Ward Baptist Church, Hi Plains Gem and Mineral Society.  Theresa loved to vacation with her family in Colorado.

She is preceded in death by her husband Tommy Day; parents, Virgil and Byra Settle; two brothers, Buck Settle and Whitt Settle; and a sister, Cynthia Settle.

Theresa is survived by her son, Sean Day of Tulia; one brother, Jack Settle of Pharr, TX; one sister, Penny Shugart of Hale Center; and three grandchildren, Logan “Kensie” Day, Patrick Day, and Cooper Day all of Kress.

The family suggests memorials to the American Diabetes Association or your favorite charity.
