Thomas Alvin Green (Plainview)

Thomas Alvin “Tommy” Green, 84, of Plainview passed away on Friday, October 5, 2018.  Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, October 9, 2018 in the Kornerstone Chapel with Mr. Chad Cook officiating. Burial will follow in Parklawn Memorial Gardens under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview.

A visitation will be held Monday evening, October 8, from 6 to 8 P.M. at Kornerstone.

Tommy was born on February 27, 1934 in McAlester, Oklahoma to Aaron and Lela Green.  He grew up in McAlester and graduated from McAlester High School in 1954 where he played football.  He married Betty Jo Dassler on September 14, 1954.  They moved to Lockney, Texas where he began his career working on the farm.  He farmed in and around the Plainview Community for over 50 years.  Tommy was a member of the Seth Ward Baptist Church and enjoyed hunting and fishing.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Jo Green; daughter, Rebecca Joyce Green; parents, Aaron Jewel and Lela Mae Green; granddaughters, Kimberly Dawn Campbell, Rebecca Ann Milstead Cook; and son-in-law, David Milstead.

Tommy is survived by his daughters, Annette Milstead of Plainview, Loretta “Jody” Campbell of Schertz; one son, AJ Green of Plainview; brother, Johnny Lee Green of Rusk; 10 Grandchildren, 25 Great Grandchildren, 4 Great Great Grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family suggests memorials to the Seth Ward Baptist Church.
