Tommy Dennis Baker (Plainview)

Tommy was born to Leonard and Lois Baker on  September 5, 1949 in Spur Texas. He graduated from Plainview High School in 1968 then attended West Texas State University. Tommy married his soul mate Carolyn, on June 27, 1992 at the home of Gena Liner. He was a supply manager for United Farm Co-op for 39 years in Plainview, Texas. Tommy served his community through his knowledge of real estate and helped countless people acquire homes. He loved sports, especially basketball and baseball and had a passion for fishing. Tommy would take memorable fishing trips to Mexico with his friends. Carolyn and Tommy traveled all over together playing golf, island hopping, and cruising. Family and friends gathered often at their lake house at Possum Kingdom. He was easy to spot in town by seeing him drive his red pickup truck. Everyone knew that Tommy was caring, humble, had a great circle of friends, and loved his dogs. His four brothers-in-law loved him as a brother and Tommy will be missed by many friends and family.

Tommy is preceded in death by his parents; Leonard and Lois Baker, and his brother; Wayne Baker.  

Tommy is survived by his wife; Carolyn Baker of Plainview, Texas, son; Larry Baker of Wichita Falls, Texas, daughter; Patricia Kammerdiener and husband Paul of Plainview, Texas, Paul’s children and grandchildren who knew him as “Papa Tommy”, mother-in-law; Donna Joy Chapman of Plainview, Texas, brother-in-law; Terry Chapman and wife Sharon of Raytown, Missouri, brother-in-law; Frank Chapman and wife Judy of Lafayette, Louisiana, brother-in-law; Jim Chapman and wife Terri of Beeville, Texas, brother-in-law; Richard Chapman and wife Becky of Tulia, Texas, and many loving nieces and nephews.
