Tommy Ewing (Tulia)

Thomas M. Ewing was born on March 11, 1933 to James and Oneita Ewing. He was born in Mills County, New Mexico and is the 3rd of eight children. Tommy played baseball in high school, college and semi-pro. He boxed in many tournaments while in high school and won many golden gloves competitions.
Tommy married JoAnn McCaslin on December 22, 1951 in the Trinity Methodist Chapel, located in the Salem Community. They had three daughters, Sharon, Karen and Patricia. He served some of the best churches, not the largest, in the Northwest Texas Conference. He was an ordained deacon and elder, preached a lot of revivals, weddings, funerals and other events. Tommy loved his Lord, church, family and friends. He never met a stranger, as he would visit with people of all ages. His philosophy was, "Let me sit on the side of the road and be a friend to all."
