Tresa Nell Rogers, 84, of Plainview passed away Wednesday, November 23, 2022. A graveside will be held Friday, December 2, 2022 at Parklawn Memorial Gardens at 2:00 P.M. with Terry Wright, pastor of Jerusalem Community Baptist Church officiating. Arrangements are under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview.
Tresa was born to James and Elma Cornett on May 15, 1938 in Munday, Texas. She married Joe William Rogers on June 10, 1956 in Happy Union, Texas. She loved to bake and was known for her delicious pies. For twenty six years, she baked cakes, pies and cookies for the Running Water Draw Center. Her favorite holiday was Christmas and enjoyed putting up her Christmas decorations with her family. Tresa was a kind hearted woman who never met a stranger. She would give anyone the shirt off her back if they needed it. She enjoyed running a shaved ice stand and would never think twice when it came to giving kids free snow cones. She loved picking up pecans. Tresa had a big personality that would light up any room that she walked into. She loved Jesus with all her heart and loved sharing his word and love with others.
She is preceded in death by her parents, J.B and Elma Cornett; her husband, Joe William Rogers; one son, Timothy “Tim” Joe Rogers; one brother, Sonny George Cornett; eight sisters, Marie Lewis, Opel Dean Bowen, Jean Curry, Sylvia Shackelford, Ruthy White, Estelle King, Opel Willow Dean and Jeanett Steen.
She is survived by her daughter, Tanya Rogers of Hale Center, Texas, seven grandchildren, Chad Hinkle of Hale Center, Tiffany Hart and husband Steven of Muleshoe, Jonathan Rogers of Lubbock, Shelby Rogers and Makayla Payne of Killeen, Zachary Burge and Zane Burge of Hale Center; eight great grandchildren, Kaitlynn, Payton, Brooklyn, Jacelyn, Sharnise, Rowdy, Avery and Tessa.
