Truman Reese, 82, of Plainview passed away on Friday, April 22, 2022 at his residence. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, April 27, 2022 in the Oriana Cemetery (Stonewall County) near Peacock, Texas. Arrangements are under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview. A visitation will be held Tuesday evening, April 26th from 6 to 8 P.M. at Kornerstone. Truman was born on September 2, 1939 in Aspermont, Texas to Odis and Twillie Reese. He married Sherry Ridley on December 26, 1961 in LaJunta, Colorado. Truman attended West Texas State in Canyon for two years before serving in the U.S. Army from 1961-1964. He was a Farmer and Rancher and was a 4-H Leader and served on the Hale County Livestock Board. He enjoyed working with 4-H and FFA Youth and helped them select and feed their livestock projects. Truman loved farming, raising sheep and working with his grandchildren on their livestock projects. He was a member of the Garland Street Church of Christ. Truman was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Harold Reese, Garland Reese, and Bennett Reese. Survivors include his wife, Sherry Reese of Plainview; son, Steve Reese and wife Sherri of Plainview; daughter, Tami Vaughan and husband Brad of Perry, Kansas; grandchildren, Bailey Nutt and husband Corbin of Floydada, Bryce Reese of Las Animas, Colorado, Brighton Reese of Plainview, Eryn Vaughan & Noah Vaughan of Perry, Kansas; great grandson Gatlin Nutt of Floydada; and a sister, Patsy Scott of Abilene.
