Tulia, Texas--Virginia (Jean) Davis, October 18, 1919- December 7, 2017 A memorial service will be held at Kornerstone Funeral Directors Chapel at 2:00 P.M. Saturday April 28,2018 Family visitation will be from 1:00 P.M. – 2:00 P.M. Saturday April 28,2018 at the funeral home Virginia Davis passed away on Thursday morning, December 7, 2017, at her residence in Plano, TX at the age of 98. She was born Virginia Cornelia Allison on October 18,1919 in Pikeville, TN to Claude and Cleo Allison. On October 5, 1940, she married Richard Davis. In November of 1949 they moved with their two children to Tulia, TX where they farmed for many years. She worked for Heard and Jones Drug Store for many years before retiring. In 1984 she moved to Plano, TX to be closer to her children. She enjoyed cooking, spending time with family, friends and loved playing games with her grandchildren She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Tulia. Virginia is preceded in death by her husband, Richard Davis, Sr., her parents, Claude and Cleo Allison, one brother, J. C. Allison, one sister, Dorothy Loyd and one son-in-law, Wayne Baker. She is survived by her immediate family, Claudette Baker of Plano, TX, Richard Davis, Jr. (Anita) of Plano, TX and Daina Butler (Bill) of Andrews, TX. Her sisters, Helen Nipper of Pikeville, TN and Nancy Godwin (Truman) of Lubbock, TX and 7 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.
