Winona Kirkland (Tulia)

Tulia, Texas—Winona Kirkland, 86, died on December 30, 2020. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 pm Saturday, January 2, 2021 at Rose Hill Cemetery in Tulia. Arrangements are under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Tulia.

Winona was born on June 11, 1934 in Silverton to Aud and Irene Chitty. She attended Silverton Schools. She married Earl Kirkland on June 20, 1954. After their marriage they moved to Tulia. She was a homemaker and a member of First Baptist Church in Tulia.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband and her siblings: A.D. Chitty, Don Chitty, Billy Chitty and Glenda Tillman.

She is survived by one daughter: Michelle Simmons of Tulia, two sons: Bryan Kirkland of Ruidoso, NM and Jessie Kirkland of Columbia, Louisiana, five grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
