Wylie Keith Hannah, 80, went to his Heavenly Home on September 28, 2019 after a short stay in the hospital. His devotion to his family and his firm belief in God supported him in his struggle and ultimately gave him peace.
Wylie was born to the late Erskin and Mamie Hannah in Vernon, Texas on February 8, 1939. He graduated from West Texas State University in 1963, and lived most of his life in Tulia, Texas.
Wylie was blessed with a loving family. He married Dolores Lee Miller, on September 14, 1962 in Canyon, Texas. Together, the couple raised 3 children. Their children remember Wylie as a devoted and loving father who always encouraged them to pursue their goals,
Wylie began his working career in the grocery field, held a position as area manager for Triple F Feeds, and was later employed to manage the front sales office at Tulia Wheat Growers. After retiring, he worked regularly at Swisher County Cooperative (now known as Swisher Electric Cooperative), as a dispatcher on weekends and other times, as needed.
Wylie was an avid sports fan, and while his health held up, he traveled regularly to watch his grandchildren in sports, band, cheerleading, etc. Due to failing health, he and Dolores moved to the Fort Worth area to be close to their children and grandchildren in his final years.
Wylie is survived by his wife, Dolores; his son, Brian, and wife Carol Jackson; his son Bruce; his daughter Rhonda Turner and husband Berry; all currently living in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. He is also survived by his grandchildren Tyler Hannah, Daneyl Walker and husband Justin, Keila Butler and husband Winston, Tanner Hannah, Tully Hannah, Brycen Turner, Britten Turner, Ben Turner, Michael Gonzales and Ashlyn Gonzales; two great-grandchildren, Zoe and Kaylee Walker; and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, his sister, Ruth Schumann, sister Fern Gillum, and brother W. J. Hannah.
Services for Wylie will be held on Friday, October 4th, 2019, at 10:00 a.m. at Lucas Funeral Home, 1601 Main St., Keller, Texas. A service will also be held in Tulia, Texas on October 14, 2019, 11:00 a.m at Kornerstone Funeral Directors. “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.” - Matthew 11:28-30
