Wynelle Keeter George (Tulia)

Tulia, Texas—Wynelle Keeter George, 83, went home to her Heavenly Father on Saturday, November 3, 2018. A graveside service will be held at 11:30 am Friday, November 9, 2018 at Rose Hill Cemetery and a funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm Friday, November 9, 2018 in the Calvary Baptist Church with Rev. Eddy Helms officiating. A visitation will be held from 6:00 to 7:00 pm Thursday, November 8, 2018 at the funeral home. Arrangements are under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Tulia.

Wynelle was born on December 23, 1934 in Canton, Georgia to Walter and Leecie Keeter. She moved with her family to Lockney, Texas at the age of 6. She grew up in Lockney and graduated from Lockney High School in 1953. She attended Lippert’s Business College in Plainview from 1953-1954. She married Mack “Bud” George on June 23, 1956 in Plainview and moved to Tulia. She worked as a substitute teacher and a teacher’s aide. She also worked at Gibson’s, The Pottery and Indian Shop and was secretary at Calvary Baptist Church.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband and her siblings: W.A. Keeter, Avis Harwell, Olin A. Keeter and Alice Tiller.

She is survived by her three daughters: Denise Gastineau of Tulia, Vonda Kitchel of Amarillo and Renee Hartman of Tulia, five grandchildren: Kristen Kitchel of Lubbock, Zane and Lesley Hartman of Juneau, Alaska, Ryan Hartman of Crane, Jacob Gastineau of Elk City, Oklahoma and Hannah Gastineau of Elk City, Oklahoma and three great grandchildren: Jocelyn Kitchel of Lubbock and William Hartman and Clark Hartman, both of Juneau, Alaska.
