Zenon Resendez (Tulia)

Tulia, Texas—Zenon Gutierrez Resendez, 74, passed away on Saturday, August 17, 2019 in Plainview. A memorial service will be held on Friday, August 23, 2019 at 2:00 PM in the Kornerstone Funeral Directors Chapel with Rev. Oscar Chavez officiating. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Cemetery under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Tulia. Zenon was born on July 9, 1945 in Mexico to Delfino Resendez and Ufracia Gutierrez. He was raised by his grandmother, Refugia Guteirrez. Zenon has been in the Swisher Community since the 1970’s. In Zenon’s young adult life he enjoyed cycling and even competed semi-pro. His interest in cycling would continue all his life and he would work on bikes for others. Zenon also enjoyed cement and masonry work. He worked at several feedyards and finished with Wrangler Feedyard in 1997. He is preceded in death by his parents, grandmother, one daughter; Griselda Resendez and a brother; Alfredo Resendez and several sisters.He is survived by one daughter; Yesenia Tovar of Bonham, three sons; Ray Resendez of Canyon, Mark Resendez of Plainview and Ricardo Resendez of Tulia; 14 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. He has an extensive family that includes sisters; Bertha Guzman of Tulia, Ofelia Fernandez, Yolanda Valdez, Rosalina Sandoval, Nereida Garza, Coni Resendez Norma Resendez and two brothers; Delfino Resendez of Chicago and David Resendez of Mexico.   Online condolences may be made at www.kornerstonefunerals.com.
