Funeral services for Carl Bradley, 88, of Ruidoso will be Tuesday, Sept. 15, at 10:00 AM at LaGrone Funeral Chapel of Ruidoso. Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, Sept. 16, at 3:00 PM in the Rose Hill Cemetery in Tulia, Texas. The body will lie in state at Kornerstone Funeral Directors in Tulia on Wednesday, Sept. 16, 2009 until service time. Mr. Bradley passed away Saturday, September 12, 2009 in Ruidoso. He was born December 2, 1920 at McCloud, Oklahoma to Hattie and Jessie Bradley and lived in McCloud until he was 3 years old. He moved in a covered wagon to Briscoe County, Texas. His mother’s team ran away and his father had to straddle the team. They moved to the Flint community when he was 14 and he helped his father on the farm. He married Violet Marie Moody on October 27, 1940 in Swisher County, Texas and she preceded him in death March 19, 2002. He farmed in Swisher County until approx. 1960, and then he spent several years in construction in New Mexico as a heavy equipment operator. He retired in Ruidoso in 1985. He attended the Methodist Church. He is survived by his children, Waylan Carl Bradley of Amarillo, TX, Loretta Jean Peirce of Amarillo, TX and Lonnie Price Bradley of Ruidoso, NM; sister, Ada Riley of Truth or Consequences, NM; a brother, Melvin Bradley of Amarillo, TX; his companion, Joyce Allison of Ruidoso; 13 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, and several great, great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his son, Kenny Bradley, a grandson, Kyle Murrell, a granddaughter April Bradley, a brother, Homer Bradley.
